Lost

Survivors of a plane crash wash up on a mysterious tropical island, where the hardships include starvation, clashing personalities, evil creatures, polar bears, and a weird metal hatch. An engrossing story plus a talented cast made Lost an instant TV hit, earning $12 Million for its pilot episode.

There are 13 regular characters in the first season. Jack (Matthew Fox), is a doctor who becomes the leader of the ragtag group. Rounding up the cast are Kate (Evangeline Lilly), a beautiful girl with a dark secret; Sawyer (Josh Holloway), a hot-tempered scrounger; Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), a Korean couple whose marriage is on the rocks; Michael (Harold Perrineau Jr.) and Walt (Malcolm David Kelley), father-and-son team; Boone (Ian Somerhalder) and Shannon (Maggie Grace), devoted stepsiblings; Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) a former rock star turned heroin addict; Hurley (Jorge Garcia), a good-hearted jolly fellow; Sayid (Naveen Andrews), a former Iraqi Republican Guardsman; Claire (Emilie de Ravin), a very pregnant beautiful woman; and John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), a survivalist.

Each episode focuses on the life of one or more characters, and through a combination of flashbacks and current events on the island, you'll get introduced to a tormented doctor, a fugitive, a murderer, a mob enforcer, a torturer, and a lottery winner and among others.
